The Worship committee has chosen Sunday November 4, as the date for the Annual Memorial Garden ceremony. During the morning service of worship, we will set aside a moment of solemn remembrance during which the names of members and friends of our church who have passed away this year, will be read. After the service, we will proceed to the Memorial Garden where we will remember and pray for those memorialized there.  Please plan to attend this meaningful service of remembrance.

This fall our church will be 165 years old. The Outreach Committee is planning to host a Founders’ Day Themed Sunday that will include historical moment or message and special era Church music during the worship service followed by a coffee hour with an historical era and/or 165th birthday theme.  A coordinated drive through the Mountain Grove Cemetery will stop at the graves of our founding members with a few words of remembrance. Maundy Thursday

Posted on March 20, 2018 in: Worship

The Maundy Thursday service is a Tenebrae service in the Sanctuary at 7:30 p.m. The word tenebrae is Latin for “shadows.” You will experience the darkness of Jesus’ days before his resurrection; the betrayal, abandonment, and agony that he endured for us. The service, which includes Communion, is left unfinished, because the story isn’t over until Easter Day. A simple soup and bread meal prior to this service will be hosted by our Youth Group. Plan to enjoy the fellowship and homemade soup at 6:00 p.m.
