June 3rd from 3:00-4:30 pm - the Garth (just off of Brooks Hall)
Join us for a wonderful afternoon of Ghanaian dancing and drumming! Ghanaian music traditionally has three componenets - drumming, singning, and dancing, and on June 3rd you can experience all three! Highlighted will be a dance and drum style from Eastern Ghana, where a group from First Presbyterian will be visiting this August.
People of all abilities and conditions are welcome. Drums will be provided. The cost is $15 per person, but space is limited to 30 people. To reserve your spot, you can sign up during Coffee Hour on Sunday.
Dr. DeQuattro has studied in Ghana and with Ghanaian teachers here in the states. He teaches West African Drumming and Dance at the Regional Center for the Arts and also has taught at Villanova, VanderCook College of Music, and CCSU.
