Messiah in the Passover Presentation - CANCELED
“When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God."
- Luke 22: 14-16
When most of us are served the Lord’s Supper, it’s not normally a “meal” by any stretch of the imagination. It’s more of a crumb and a sip. So why is it called a meal or supper? It is rooted in the Jewish observance of the feast. We should remember that the Last Supper was a Passover meal.
The Worship Committee will be hosting a presentation of the “Messiah in the Passover” by the Chosen People Ministries on Sunday, March 22 at 4:30 p.m. in Brooks Hall. Tables of 8 will be set with the elements of a Passover meal, and a head table for the demonstration. The program is designed to give participants a deeper understanding both Passover and of the Communion table.
Following the demonstration, the Fellowship committee will host a Community potluck supper. Signs up are in Brooks Hall or email Clare Schimpf, chair of Worship, to sign up. Advance sign-ups are important for to have the appropriate number of tables and seating to fully experience this demonstration.
