June 10th at 7:30 pm - the Sanctuary The American Chamber Orchestra presents its Spring Concert featuring Beethoven's Symphony #8, the Rossini 'Barber of Seville Overture,' and concerto music by Dvorak, Mendelssohn and Paganini. The three winners of this year’s concerto competition will be featured soloists. Suggested contribution is $20 for adults and $10 for students. As with other concerts in this series, a portion of the contributions goes to supporting music programs in the church. June 3rd from 3:00-4:30 pm - the Garth (just off of Brooks Hall) Join us for a wonderful afternoon of Ghanaian dancing and drumming! Ghanaian music traditionally has three componenets - drumming, singning, and dancing, and on June 3rd you can experience all three! Highlighted will be a dance and drum style from Eastern Ghana, where a group from First Presbyterian will be visiting this August. People of all abilities and conditions are welcome. Sunday May, 21 at 3:00 pm there will be a concert by The Connecticut Harp Ensemble in the sanctuary. Featured will be a performance of The Song of the Oak and the Ivy, composed by Corrina Hewat and based on Eugene Field's tale written in 1886. Haley Hewitt will perform with the ensemble. Funds raised from the concert will be shared between the Connecticut Harp Ensemble Scholarship Fund and First Presbyterian's Pollitt Music Fund.

The Outreach Committee and Sew-ers, Etc. will host a tea and craft show to benefit the various Missions supported by the sewing group and the First Presbyterian Youth Ministry's summer mission trip to Chicago , as well as give you the opportunity to recognize the special people in your life.
